Description:
James Haughton writes to George Thompson thanking him for sending him newspaper publications and discusses a few of them. He discusses an incident in the Reporter "charging you with being the paid agent of a slaveholder." He writes that it didn't occur to him that "the native princes of India were slaveholders & yet I presume such is the fact. Now I do not think that is a good reason why injustice should be done them, but it does seem to me a good reason why their advocated [are] in these countries."
