Letter from Isabella Massie to Mary Anne Estlin, 1853 April 2
Description:
Isabella Massie writes to Mary Anne Estlin in regards to waiting for Harriet Beecher Stowe to arrive. She thinks that Estlin's father or someone "other equally sterling to be" should expose Dr. Prince at the British & Foreign Bible Society meeting as a pro-slavery man. She mentions Samuel L. Gurney. Massie was surprised by G.W. Alexander signing a circular of the anti-slavery society. She wishes Mr. Estlin could come to the anti-slavery meeting. Mrs. Stowe's "Key to Uncle Tom's Cabin" will do much good." She received a long letter from Wendell Philips.
