G.L.Emerson writes to Deborah Weston in regards to anti-slavery news and various affairs. Emerson writes, "I believe the good cause is still flourishing though I grieve to say I do not hear so much about it, as I did when you [were] with us it is astonishing to see how cold and stupid we all grow without your warming, enlivening influence and I earnestly beg of you if you have any other good cause not excepting religion, that you will come..."A second sheet written by Emerson also writes, "Any information respecting Miss Deborah Weston formerly a resident in New Bedford, a dear and valued friend, will be gratefully received and duely acknowledged by the subscriber."
