Description:
Richard Whately, the Archbishop of Dublin, writes to William Lloyd Garrison after reading in the Liberator of March 4th that he is "described as the author of a Review in the 'North British' of Uncle Tom's Cabin." He tells Garrison, "I am not the author" but that he knows "it is from the pen of a Lady, a clergyman's widow, in the south of Ireland." Whately then asks Garrison "to give notice & correction of the mistake."
