Letter from James B. Whitcomb, Danielsonville, [Connecticut], to Samuel May, [18]50 July 29th
Description:
James B. Whitcomb writes to Samuel May discussing May's assertion in his last letter that "the fare on the Norwich & Worcester R[ail] R[oad] would be reduced one half for the accommodation of the Anti S[lavery] friends in this region." He tells May that he spoke to "Mr. Wood, the superintendent at Worcester ... and he said that no arrangement had been made, only talked of." Whitcomb believes "the fare will be a great consideration with some at least in this vicinity" but says that he and Maria "intend being there if possible."
