Letter from Erasmus Darwin Hudson, Springfield, [Massachusetts], to Samuel May, [18]50 July 31
Description:
E.D. Hudson writes to Samuel May declining his invitation to "meet with the friends of humanity on the morrow" but promises he "shall be with you in spirit." Hudson also sends May $5 telling him to donate it to the cause as he wishes, suggesting the Liberator or New England Conventions, as two possibilities. He tells May, that if he "can be of any service at any time in attending any of the conventions you may command it gratis - by paying travelling expenses - especially on Sunday conventions."
