Letter from Adeline Roberts, Salem, [Massachusetts], to Samuel May, [18]51 Aug[ust] 30th
Description:
Adeline Roberts writes to Samuel May asking him to send Lucy Stone to deliver an address as part of the Salem Female Anti-Slavery Society's lecture series. Roberts explains that they "are to have a course of eight lectures and it seems very desirable that we should have a woman to give the introductory." She adds that Stone was unable to speak to the organization last year and tells May, "we must secure her for this lecture." She also asks May to respond so that the lecture could be advertised soon.
