Letter from William Coffin, New Bedford, [Massachusetts], to Maria Weston Chapman, 1840 Nov[ember] 15
Description:
William Coffin writes to Maria Weston Chapman in regards to sending a catalogue of books in his library and if any appeal to her, he will forward them to her. He approves of her proposition to have a lithograph letter prepared for circulation among the friends of the cause. He suggests that a number of letters be sent to some good friends in each town to promote interest in the anti-slavery fair. The new organized society in New Bedford was "about dead." The female anti-slavery society are hard at work for the fair. He is disappointed he won't be able to attend the meeting on tuesday.
