Letter from E.J. Johnson, New Bedford, [Massachusetts], to Samuel May, 1852 May 25th
Description:
E.J. Johnson, the President of the New Bedford Female Anti-Slavery Lyceum, writes to Samuel May requesting him to hold an antislavery convention in New Bedford. Johnson says that "the members of this Society are very anxious to have a meeting of this kind, believing that the times demand a renewal of A[nti] S[lavery] agitation in our midst." She asks May to notify the society if a convention will be held.
