Letter from Lewis Ford, North Abington, [Massachusetts], to Samuel May, 1852 June 13
Description:
Lewis Ford writes to Samuel May suggesting "that our committee of arrangements, for the 4th of July, better be enlarged" as more members would have the authority to help "keep the boys from firing crackers in the immediate vicinity of the stand ..." Ford names Philander Shaw, Elbridge Sprague, Samuel Dyer, and M.H. Pool, as people who could be added to the committee. He also mentions the handbills for the meeting, which he assumes May "will attend to."
Holograph, signed.
Title devised by cataloger.
On verso, the letter is addressed to "S. May Jr. Leicester Mass." and it is postmarked with a black, circular stamp reading, "Boston 5cts. 15 Jun."
