Letter from William Doane, Charlton, [Massachusetts], to Samuel May, [18]52 June 14
Description:
William Doane writes to Samuel May about plans for an upcoming antislavery meeting in Charlton. Doane says "there is no suitable place in Charlton for a meeting on the day" and suggests that it be held in Spencer instead, where "the Town Hall can be had if desired." He offers to give notice of the meeting once the location and time are agreed, and asks May to decide if the meeting should begin on Saturday evening. Doane also asks May "what time and what way Mr. [Stephen S.] Foster and lady [Abby Kelley Foster] would come, so as to make some arrangement for their accommodation."
