Letter from William Doane, Charlton, [Massahusetts], to Samuel May, 1852 Sept[ember] 13
Description:
William Doane writes to Samuel May suggesting that the meeting in Charlton not be postponed later than October 3 "for the reason that we have no means of warming the house if it should be cold weather." He tells May that of the people he has spoke to "concerning the remarks of Mr. & Mrs. Foster at our other meeting were as a general thing, very much pleased." Doane thinks Stephen S. Foster is "to be the man for [the] Podunk" meeting and he asks May to send him "10 of your advertisements if you have some you could send me."
