Letter from Charles Calistus Burleigh, Plainfield, [Connecticut], to Samuel May, [18]52 [September] 17
Description:
C.C. Burleigh writes to Samuel May sending him a revised "bill drawn out more particularly." Burleigh explains that he "did not know it was necessary to go so much into particulars" as he had not done that previously. He also sends a receipt with the bill "as friend [Samuel] Philbrick prefers ..." Burleigh assures May that he is "ready to take the field at your call 'from time to time'" but if he is unavailable he will inform May with "timely notice to that effect."
