J.H. Crane writes to Samuel May informing him that at a meeting of the Worcester South Division Anti-Slavery Society, "it was voted that you be requested to employ lecturing agents for this Society & also to appoint meetings for them at such times & places as your judgement may direct ..." Crane requests for Andrew Twombly Foss to lecture for them in the fall and reports that the society has voted "to pay $50 to the Mass[achusetts] A[nti] S[lavery[ Society for assistance rendered during the past year." He also asks May to appoint a time and place for the society to hold is next regular quarterly meeting.
