Letter from Lucia Weston, Weymouth, [Massachusetts], to Deborah Weston and Caroline Weston, June 18
Description:
[Lucia Weston] writes to Caroline and Deborah Weston in regards to the whereabouts of the other Weston sisters; Emma is at Brush Hill, Anne goes to Boston tomorrow, and the writer is "very poorly in health." The writer explains that aunt Mary drove "Maria and I to Mrs. James Thayers, where the quarterly meeting of the F.A.S. Society was held, and the sewing meeting connected with it." She sends them all of their letters and 4 that don't belong to them; "Rogers letter, Anne wants you to send back, as soon as possible for she wants to answer it soon and give her views on 'free meetings.' " She asks their opinions on the "Standard" newspaper. She writes a bit of gossip at the end of this letter but it appears to be missing the rest of the letter.
Holograph, signed.
Title devised by cataloger.
The letter appears to be incomplete but on the side margin is the name "Lucia Weston" written in pencil and unlike the actual writer's handwriting so I am putting her name in brackets.
