Maria (White) Lowell writes to Maria Weston Chapman in regards to the use of her name in the call to the anti-slavery fair, the writer's only objection us that she will be able to give very little beside her name. She writes that "I suppose I ought to be thankful to render so small a mite in so great a cause." James Russell Lowell sends his rememberances to her.
Holograph, signed.
Title devised by cataloger.
The catalog card says a possible of date of "1844?" but the folder says 1846? and the previous cataloger seems to try to deduce when and where this was written but is not certain so I thought it best to leave the date of publication to unknown.
