Letter from Daniel P. Parker, Boston, [Massachusetts], to Maria Weston Chapman, 1843 Oct[ober] 10
Description:
Daniel P. Parker writes to Maria Weston Chapman in regards to giving pecuniary aid to the publication of the "Liberty Bell." He quotes at length some remarks made by Henry Clay a few years ago, expressing the idea that "no state, no part of the country could be dishonored without affecting more or less the whole." He also recalls attention to Clay's status as a slaveholder.
