Letter from Elizabeth Pease Nichol, Darlington, [England], to Maria Weston Chapman, 1844 [July 15]
Description:
Elizabeth Pease Nichol writes to Maria Weston Chapman in regards to forwarding "Mrs. W's offering to the Fair," without waiting for the box which she hopes to send in October. A letter from John Newton of Olney would "fetch a handsome sum from autograph fanciers" in England; she hopes it may be successfully sold in America. Mrs. W., being herself a collector, would like to receive autographs from Maria and from William Lloyd Garrison. She wishes that the "Non-Resistant" were reestablished, as it is worth all the other peace periodicals that she ever saw.
