Letter from James Miller M'Kim, New York, [N.Y.], to William Lloyd Garrison, March 29th 1866
Description:
James Miller M'Kim informs William Lloyd Garrison that the executive committee met the previous day, and recounts that it was an "interesting" meeting, and calls the reports presented "cheering - money wise & otherwise". M'Kim adds that the reports from the western branch were 'not-cheering", stating that there were difficulties in their secretaries establishing "good relations with the Western people". M'Kim laments their difficulties in uncovering a secretary who will be able to meet their goals, and states that Lyman Abbott cannot be spared from his position. M'Kim begs Garrison to visit them by rail the following week, if his health will permit it, to consult with the Executive Committee.
