Letter from George William Benson, Providence, [R.I.], to Samuel Joseph May, Sept[ember] 5 1832
Description:
George William Benson writes Samuel Joseph May concerning a horse owned by a Mr. Adams, informing May that Adams will be in Brooklyn the following week, by which time May ought to have made up his mind concerning purchasing the horse from Adams. Benson states that he is about to reply to a writer in the "American" who favors colonization and opposes immediate emancipation, and requests May's aide should a controversy develop. Benson states that William Lloyd Garrison is expected in Providence that week.
