Description:
Harper Boies writes to Amos A. Phelps about his overdue salary owed by the Massachusetts Anti-Slavery Society. After discussing his health, he says he is pursuing the position of Steward of the Marine Hospital in Boston or Charlestown. He says he will “give up to [Phelps] any demand against the Massachusetts Anti-Slavery Society if [Phelps] will obtain for [Boies] the appointment of Steward of the Marin Hospital.” He asks Phelps to draw up petitions for the removal of the current steward and for his appointment.
