Letter from Elizabeth Palmer Peabody, Concord, Mass., to William Lloyd Garrison, July 20th 1865
Description:
Elizabeth Palmer Peabody inquires if it will be possible for William Lloyd Garrison to locate and forward to her two letters by Mr. Mann to Garrison written immediately following the "controversey with Mr. Phillips which proved so unsatisfactory". Peabody proclaims that these letters represent a "most admirable statement" of the arguments for working towards abolition "under the Constitution of the United States". Peabody expresses her hopes that Garrison will now endorse Mann's arguments.
