Letter from Frederick Augustus Fiske, Hartford, to Amos Augustus Phelps, June 25. 1839
Description:
Frederick Augusts Fiske writes to Amos A. Phelps that he is waiting for Phelps's son, Edward, to arrive after a vacation in Farmington, in order to accompany him to “headquarters” again. After reporting that Edward is doing well at school in Norwalk, Fiske discusses Edward's affair, including his study, the clothes Phelps sent for him, the mild form of measles he suffered from, and his desire to see his father again soon. Fiske then says that he had heard Phelps was to visit Amherst, but St. Clair came instead and gave a very good lecture there.
