Letter from Samuel Johnson, Salem, [Mass.], to William Lloyd Garrison, Jan[uary] 15. 1875
Description:
Samuel Johnson writes William Lloyd Garrison to express his sympathy and agreement with Garrison's "rebuke of the Faneuil Hall meeting" published in the Journal. Johnson states that those who play with the "hands of democrats and reactionists North and South" in the hopes of electing a "democrat with Southern sympathies" would soon realize their folly should their aspirations come to pass.
