J. Lamborn thanks Garrison for his reply to his earlier letter, and informs Garrison that they will be starting for Chicago in a few days before making for the East. Lamborn describes his anxiousness to arrive in an "Anti-Slavery atmosphere where the moral teaching it contains can be more fully appreciated".
