Letter from Alfred Harry Love, Philad[elphi]a, to William Lloyd Garrison, 3rd mo 19, 1868
Description:
Alfred Henry Love writes to William Lloyd Garrison to express his “sincere sympathy and general satisfaction” after reading Garrison’s recent letter about the “Jackson Fund” published on the National Anti-Slavery Standard. Love says that the letter “clears the skies, for many of us were in doubt,” but says he would leave out certain lines that seem vindictive if the same letter is to be published again in the future. He then discusses the work he and his associates have been doing for the peace cause.
