William Lloyd Garrison did not want to appear to fail in coming to the aid of his friend, James Miller M'Kim, who remains very ill. Garrison speaks of death as an end to suffering. Garrison says: "I am glad you regard Jackson's bust of Sumner as a great success." Garrison discusses the bust of himself by Jackson. He is pleased that Wendell Phillips Garrison is going to have the old Whipple portrait (of William L. Garrison) photographed by Rockwood. William L. Garrison regrets that Mr. William Green's hearing is seriously impaired. Mrs. Ellie Wright Garrison has been suffering from rheumatism.
