He describes the rooms occupied by the Villard family in the Westminster Hotel. William L. Garrison received social calls from Mrs. Sarah S. Savin, J. B. Richards and his son, the colored minister Charles B. Ray, and a son of D. L. Grandin. Garrison declined an interview from a New York Herald reporter.
