Letter from Samuel May, Jr., New York and Leicester, [Mass.], to Richard Davis Webb, May 9, 1860
Description:
May tells Webb that Dr. George Barrell Cheever, Reverend A.B. Bradford, Reverend Dr. Beriah Green, and Reverend Daniel Worth spoke at the annual meeting of the American Anti-Slavery Society in New York. Worth had just been released from a North Carolina prison, having been convicted of circulating Hinton Rowan Helper's "The Impending Crisis of the South."
