Letter from Oliver Johnson, New York, [N.Y.], to William Lloyd Garrison, 27 April, 1864
Description:
Johnson writes Garrison to clarify three points concerning the upcoming anniversary. Johnson inquires if he should prepare and print a selection of hymns for the meeting, and asks Garrison if there are any in particular he would like to be sung at the meeting. Johnson inquires if Yerrinton will be present to report on the proceedings, as he will need to search for another reporter if Yerrinton is unavailable. Johnson closes by advising Garrison to commence preparations on the resolutions that week, as he feels that they may be the "salvation of our meeting from confusion and strife of tongue, if not from unwise action."
