Letter from Oliver Johnson, New York, [N.Y.], to William Lloyd Garrison, 4 May, 1864
Description:
Johnson informs Garrison that he has selected the hymns for the anniversary meeting, and has made arrangements for an organist and singers. Johnson states that William H. Day has consented to speak at the meeting, and asks Garrison what the speaking order between Day, Wendell Phillips, and George Thompson should be. Johnson states that James G. Clark has offered his services as a singer for the meeting at the Cooper Institute. Johnson informs Garrison that he has scheduled Garrison's speech for Wednesday night, and requests that Garrison forward to him the resolutions immediately for publication in the following week's Standard.
