Letter from Oliver Johnson, New York, [N.Y.], to William Lloyd Garrison, Dec[ember] 26, 1865
Description:
Johnson informs Garrison that he has only just received Garrison's most recent letter, having been unable to search for it the previous day due to his having been busy in preparing that week's Independent for the presses. Johnson apologizes for the poor quality of his response, and closes in asking that Garrison print an "extra quantity" of that week's issue of the Liberator, as Johnson anticipates a high demand for the paper's final issue.
Holograph, signed.
Title devised by cataloger.
Letter is composed upon stationary bearing the header of "The Independent, Editorial Rooms, No. 5 Beekman Street, New York".
