Letter from Samuel May, Jr., Leicester [Mass.], to James Miller M'Kim, Mond. Evg. June 3, [1861]
Description:
Samuel May Jr. writes to J. Miller McKim in reply to McKim’s letter, which presumably discussed McKim’s new role in the National Anti-Slavery Standard. May says he was “comforted by its tone.” May then says he showed Miller’s letter suggesting the fusion of the National Anti-Slavery Standard and the Liberator to other members of American Anti-Slavery Society’s Executive Committee. Finally, May says he will certainly arrange a meeting [of the Executive Committee] with James and Lucretia Mott while the couple is visiting Boston.
