Letter from Samuel May, Jr., Leicester, Mass., to William Lloyd Garrison, Dec[ember] 31, 1866
Description:
Samuel May Jr. thanks William Lloyd Garrison for his notes and sends his own new year’s greetings to him. After expressing his sympathy to Garrison who has been suffering severely from injuries, May urges him to have his arm examined more thoroughly. May then gives reasons not having been able to visit Garrison at Roxbury. He also explains the reason for the delay being made with the “Testimonial,” an effort to collect contributions to aid Garrison with the injuries, and reports on the details of its operation.
