Letter from E. D. Moore, Boston, to Amos Augustus Phelps, 1846 October 17
Description:
In this letter to Amos A. Phelps, Erasmus Darwin Moore writes that Martin Moore is opposed to Phelps’s answering Beecher in the way he (Phelps) desires. Moore criticizes Martin Moore’s editorial position in general. He then talks about an article in the Boston Recorder that may interest Phelps, the work entitled, “Hebrew Wife,” which he will try to get hold of and possibly publish, and the New York Evangelist’s treatment of polygamy, which agreed with the Boston Recorder’s position. He sends news from Phelps’s family.
