Notes (historical):
This structure was originally built as the company store for the Carver-Washburn Company in the mid-1800s. The Cole Apothecary sold not only pharmaceutical items but also sodas, tonics, ice cream and food items. Cole's also was at the time of this photograph (circa 1890), selling bicycles. The Bridgewater-Boston Express Company specialized in delivering goods around town that were brought in by the train.
