Letter from Michael Anagnos to Capt. Keller, August 16, 1886
Description:
August 16th 6 My dear Sir, Your favor of the 15th ultimo was duly received, and I would say in reply, that the case of your little daughter is of exceeding interest to me. Your brief description of her mental activity reminds me forcibly of Laura Bridgman, and I would certainly go and see her, if the distance which separates us were not so great. It will give me very great pleasure to aid you in securing the services of a competent person to give her the necessary instruction in the rudiments of knowledge and handicraft. Please let me know what pecuniary compensation are you disposed to offer, in addition to the living of the teacher, so that I may be able to have something definite to say on this point. Very sincerely yours, M. Anagnos. Mr. A. H. Keller. Tuscumbia, Alabama.
