Handwritten note on item verso: 189 acres, 2 cinder runways, 1500 ft. long. First landing made June 13, 1923 by Lt. Kitchell Snow. Two hangars built by Army Air corps. Two hangars built by Mass. Air Guard. In 1922, the Mass. Legislature authorized the Mass. D. P. W. to expend $250,000 to build this landing field. It was stipulated that this sum must be matched by others, & the Boston Chamber of Commerce promptly did this.
