Holograph, signed.
William Lloyd Garrison is waiting for the arrival of Mr. and Mrs. May, with their dear children. Garrison is to speak at the quarterly meeting of the [New England] Anti-Slavery Society on the 29th. The anti-slavery convention for Middlesex County is to be held October 1st in Groton. Dr. Amos Farnsworth is anxious to secure May's services there. Durant's balloon ascension was beautiful. Ruffians from Canterbury, Conn., broke up Prudence Crandall's school.
On the bottom of page four of this manuscript, there is a separate note by Mrs. Helen Eliza Garrison to Mrs. Samuel Joseph May (Lucretia Flagge Coffin May). The Garrisons are anticipating the pleasure of a visit from Mrs. May.
