Holograph, signed.
A hanging apparatus or gallows was left at the Brighton Street house in Boston. William Lloyd Garrison cautions against venturing out at night. He regrets that the gallows was not kept for an anti-slavery museum. Have Mr. and Mrs. Child sailed for Europe? Garrison was shocked that the Quaker John G. Whittier was pelted. George W. Benson is rumored to be in the Providence jail for "safe-keeping" by his friends.
