Louisa Jane Whiting is replying to a request for financial and literary contributions to the Liberty Bell. Whiting can give money, but she will have to wait until October before trying her hand at writing an article for the Liberty Bell. Whiting says: "We are just reorganizing our Sewing Society and find it somewhat embarrassing to see a just valuation upon the work done, such as plain sewing; if there is a scale of prices adopted by the general Society, will it be too much trouble to ask you to forward it to me."
