In this letter, John Treadwell Norton proposes a union of abolitionists and offers nine suggestions. The unhappy divisions have proved a hindrance. The union cannot be effected without the omission of matters of opinion, etc., not necessarily connected with slavery. Norton suggests a meeting of individuals representing different views and the withholding of publicity unless favorable views should ensue.
