William Lloyd Garrison describes the ocean voyage from Fortress Monroe to Charleston, South Carolina. He traveled in a steamer to Savannah, Georgia. He praises Henry Ward Beecher's discourse at Fort Sumter. A great crowd of colored people came to the celebration. William L. Garrison has not yet seen his son George Thompson Garrison.
