William Lloyd Garrison went to Lynn and Nahant by "horse-car" on a very hot and sultry day. He gave his address on Abraham Lincoln to a large audience in the Universalist church in Providence. The Hutchinsons were also on the program. Mr and Mrs. James Mott visited Garrison at "our Highland home." Lucretia Mott preached in Medford. Samuel Joseph May and Charlotte Coffin also called on Garrison. Garrison comments on Samuel Joseph May's increasing lameness and his wife's death. Wendell Phillips failed to meet Garrison at the dock in New York because neither he nor George Thompson left their staterooms promptly on arrival. George Thompson Garrison is in Orangeburg, South Carolina. William Lloyd Garrison gives his travel plans.
