He acknowledges receipt of Webb's "The Life and Letters of Captain John Brown," which he praises highly, and he encloses a lock of John Brown's hair from Wendell Phillips. May mentions the circular letter sent out by the Ladies' Committee of the Anti-Slavery subscription committee.
