Letter from John Anderson Collins, Boston, to Samuel May, March 25th, 1839
Description:
This letter from Collins is written on the inside of a form letter soliciting subscriptions to "The Cradle of Liberty." A few copies of "The Cradle of Liberty" were enclosed. Collins urges wide circulation of the publication either by May or other abolitionists. "The Cradle of Liberty" is printed at cost and no compensation can be paid to those circulating it. Collins recommends that only one person in each town act as agent for the publisher, and that the local societies purchase twenty to forty copies for gratuitous circulation.
