Letter from John Anderson Collins, Boston, to Samuel May, Sept. 13th, 1840
Description:
Collins announces the publication of the New England Anti-Slavery Almanac, containing work by Theodore Dwight Weld. Collins asserts that "...most of the popular objections to immediate and unconditional emancipation are considered in [Weld's] usual clear, logical, and caustic style." Collins requests that orders be placed and details the pricing. He adds that other publications are available for purchase, including all of the Anti-Slavery works published in the United States, Anti-Slavery prints, letter paper with mottoes, seals, etc. Collins states that libraries should be established in every town and parish, claiming that "The people only want light on this subject and they are with us."
