Letter from John Anderson Collins, Boston, to Samuel May, Sept. 14, 1840
Description:
Collins invites May to attend two state conventions, the first to be held at Worcester on October 6th and 7th; the second at Springfield on October 8th and 9th. Collins says that these conventions will be very important, as the withholding of political support from pro-slavery candidates at the coming state and presidential elections and "the duty of Abolitionists generally in relation to pro-Slavery parties" will be considered. He adds that Garrison and Rogers will give an account of their tour in Great Britain.
