Letter from George Armstrong, Clifton, [England], to Samuel May, Oct. 30. 1843
Description:
Armstrong thanks May heartily for his October 9th letter from Geneva. He mentions receiving a letter from Harriet Martineau, who "enter[s] fully on the American position" of the slavery question. He also discusses the transportation and destination of the "Address" on slavery to be sent by the English Unitarian clergy to the American Unitarian clergy and recommends obtaining the address of Daniel O'Connell to the pro-slavery Irish. Armstrong commends O'Connell's treatment of the question of "nasal sensibility."
