Letter from George Foster, Andover, [Mass.], to William Lloyd Garrison, Jan'y 31, 1842
Description:
George Foster writes that Abby Kelley Foster gave a lecture to a more than filled Baptist church, giving "a most excellent impression." George Foster trusts that William Lloyd Garrison will write an editorial about the meeting next week. George Foster writes: "Some of our enemies are attempting to make the people believe that the revolutions published will embrace the only subject to come up, and are therefore endeavoring to make the people believe that it is to be an anti-church & clergy meeting. I think it would be well to suggest that other matters will probably be considered. Our Committee of Arrangements are on hand. We want the 'Irish Petition' and the 'Irish Birch' brought up, if so please mention the fact."
